Tonight at HAuNTcon the costume party will kick off where we can see all the detailed costumes and eccentrics from haunters across the nation and make-up jobs from the Wolfe Brothers, the Monster Make-up Wars, and more! There is a grill happening at Bodybag Entertainment where the Booth Babes, are going to grill up some steaks.

HAuNTcon On-Site with Omro

So HAuNtcon has been a non-stop industry whirl wind this year. The tradeshow floor had many new vendors and exhibitors and we sent Omro, our remote RFR host to make his rounds with some of the vendors. We will be bringing you a few of these shows today as we mix and post them.

Realm of Darkness and Erebus Haunted Attractions were a blast last night. The buses filled up quickly and many drove themselves to the events. Realm provided high energy scares where the actors made sure to go over the topand make the night enjoyable. As we came upon Erebus, the site was HUGE to say the least. They lived up to their record of tthe largest walk-through attraction. The event had the queue area bumping with the Rotting Flesh Radio featured band, Halloween playing live in the queue. These guys rocked thee stage and just gave you a hint at what you had in stored in terms of entertainment value. The haunt itself has some very classic yet effective scares and some that will just blow your mind, one of them being the swamp (aka birthing canal) that I found amazing and the drop ball room. All I can say is you haven’t experience Erebus unless you are buried in a balls and can’t move.

After the events, RFR Sponsor the International Association of Haunted Attractions (IAHA) had a socail on the roof of Erebus. Many turned out for a Erebus Cola (Beer) and a good old Wisconsin Brat. People on scene were the IAHA board members and President Tim Gavinski was manning the grill. SPFX, Sinister Visions, Scare Tacticz, Bad Boys Scenic Design, Haunted Media DVD Magazine, and a numerous amount of haunted attractions were socializing, drinking and having a great time getting to mingle with eachother in the industry. There is even a nice Rotting Flesh Radio Chat Graveyard Deadites picture floating around somewhere…I claim innocence.

The night came to a close as we headed back to the Hyatt and wound down with more mingling with Hauntfest, Midwest Haunters Convention, Goatman Hollow, and more.So as we come into Saturday, I will have more interviews coming from the show floor, photos of all the vendors, and seminars comin…so keep checking your email to know when we have them posted. TRANSWORLD EXHIBITS MOVES 24TH INTERNATIONAL HALLOWEEN, COSTUME AND PARTY SHOW TO LAS VEGAS , MARCH 2008

NEWS RELEASE: January 25, 2007

Rosemont , Illinois — After 23 years in Chicago, TransWorld Exhibits has announced it is moving the International Halloween, Costume & Party Show (HCPShow) to the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas . The 2008 show dates will be Sunday, March 16 – Wednesday, March 19.

“By moving this show to Las Vegas , we will be able to expand our floor plan and accommodate the expansion requests of many of our exhibitors. We’ll also open up the show to greater attendance participation from the West Coast. This is a big change for us and we’re excited about its positive effect on the show,” said Joseph Thaler, president of TransWorld Exhibits.

Exhibitors and attendees will be able to see the 2008 floor plan at the 2007 show which is just around the corner, Thaler said, opening on Friday, February 23 and running through Monday, February 26, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont , IL . “We’re looking forward to discussing our plans with exhibitors and attendees,” Thaler added. “We’ll be talking about this move a lot at the upcoming show and we’re confident that exhibitors and attendees will share our enthusiasm about 2008.”

Transworld’s 12th National Haunt & Attractions Show, located upstairs from the HCPShow in Rosemont, will also make the move to Las Vegas in 2008 and will continue to be held in a separate exhibitor hall, although crossover attendance is free and encouraged.

 “We’re already working on a number of special initiatives for the Las Vegas show,” Thaler said. “We hope to announce some exciting co-locating shows and a few other surprises that will add to the excitement of this move.” Announcements and new developments will be posted on the show website, www.hcpshow.com.

New Horror Channel coming to DirectTv

Well we have all read about the Horror Channel and also Monsters HD, well now there is a new TV Network coming soon. Now in addition to getting your fright fix from Rotting Flesh Radio each week, you can tune in to your TV for more Horror fun.

Series like “Friday the 13th,” “Twin Peaks,” “Alfred Hitchcock Presents” and “Tales from the Crypt” are slated to be those first added to the lineup. There will also be films such as “The Shining” and “Psycho.”There are also talks of a possible original series coming to the channel. So far it seems the only carrier of the channel is going to be DirectTV. But I am sure that will change soon.

It is a great idea for a channel and Monsters HD is already very enjoyable. The Horror Channel has been in limbo so lets see where this goes and if it is something that will stick.

Horrid Holidays On The Way…

So as we near the launch of our ANNUAL MORBIDLY MERRY CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION, as we do every year, we have some Haunt News we are going to post, but not until after we give you a nice Metal Version of Christmas Classics by the one and only TWISTED SISTER. I am not sure if its enjoyable or not yet, but I can’t stop watching.

It’s like watching the runway show at Transworld…can’t stop watching.
