NBC’s New 5 Hour Horror Lineup Since Leno Fiasco…

by RFR Casket Crew Storm

Greetings Deadites,
Not since Doctor Frankenstein started grave robbing has there been a more ill conceived mad scientist experiment then the Jay Leno Show at 10pm. Well the angry mob of local affiliates grabbed their pitchforks and torches and chased the big chinned monster back to late night. Now NBC is faced with a big problem, what the hell can they get together to fill 5 hours of programming each week? Here are some of my Suggestions.

Cooking with Krueger:
Not only does Freddy bring his own cutlery, he is ready to deliver killer comments while hosting the entire show from inside an industrial oven.

So You Think You Can Haunt?:
Aspiring Halloween enthusiasts try to impress the judges by trying to scare the audience using costumes, FX, props, and pneumatics.

Dracula’s Creeptacular Variety Show:
The kids like the vampires that sparkle? Well wait until they get a load of the king of the vampires opening each show with a musical number while wearing a sequined jumpsuit.

The Creepy Evil Klown Show:
Sorta like the Jay Leno show, but with better jokes and hosted by a creepy clown. Who would not tune in to see Lady Gaga try to sit through an interview by Pennywise?

Whose Nightmare is it Anyway?:
Drew Carey and friends match up with Steven King and Clive Barker to act out improvised horror.

ZSI : Zombie Scene Investigation:
Each week the team uses forensic science to discover which celebrity zombie ate the victim’s brains.

Sweet Talking with Bruce Campbell:
A hidden camera show where Bruce Campbell uses one liners to talk himself out of madcap real life situations.

Leatherface: The Musical:
They let CopRock air for a few weeks, why not choreographed chainsaw dance numbers?

So until next time Deadites, Sit Back, Relax, and Rot Away…

Reindeer Manor Abusement Park: 13th St. Morgue, Dungeon of Doom, & Reindeer Manor

September 22, 2009 Halloween, Haunt Industry, News No Comments

Reindeer Manor Abusement Park, Located at 410 Houston School Rd. Red Oak, TX features 3 Haunted Attractions in 1 Terrifying Location. 13th Street Morgue, Dungeon Of Doom and Reindeer Manor. The events are now open for scaring!

Their Mission:
Reindeer Manor, in its 36th season, is a non-profit event dedicated to the enrichment of local area youth groups. Reindeer Manor Haunted House not only benefits Boy Scout Troop 1, Venture Crew 3 and Cub Pack 1, but also is actually planned, built, and run by the troop as well. Many of the kids who have worked at the Manor have gone on to do great things from rocket engineers to military commanders to entrepreneurs. Many other non-profits such as the Red Oak Hawkettes, Maypearl High School, Rotary Clubs and Explorer Posts have used Reindeer Manor as a fundraiser as well. In 2005, the addition of a separately owned attraction, 13th Street Morgue and the addition of a 3rd attraction in 2008, Dungeon Of Doom, previously located in Arlington, TX have caused the ever growing show at Reindeer Manor to become more popular, thus creating what is now known as Reindeer Manor Abusement Park. The park has received high ranks such as 13th Street Morgue’s readers choice award, Dungeon Of Doom twice being named Dallas Observer’s “Best Haunted House in the DFW Metroplex” and Reindeer Manor being featured in several newspaper publications, e-zines, magazines and DVD’s including “The Happy Haunting Of America”.

Our Mission is to continue this tradition of excellence as well as to foster new relationships while endeavoring to benefit the local community for years to come.

The Rumors Are All True:
Reindeer Manor’s true story starts as far back as the 1900’s when a wooden house stood on the site of the current house. Swedish immigrants occupied the house while James Sharp was away. In 1915, lightning sparked a fire, which consumed the house killing a family of sharecroppers and several small children. The house was to be rebuilt this time engineered of concrete, brick and steel so the house would not succumb to fire. Before the house could be completed James Sharp died. Reports are sketchy as to what happened. His son inherited the house in 1917. In 1929, the once wealthy family was thrust into abject poverty due to the depression. It is in this time that whispers of a Sharp family curse began circulating. Obsessed with finding a solution, many strange folk were seen entering the great house. No one is sure if they were instructed by a “spirit” or simply came upon a solution on their own, but soon the couple found a way to bring the Sharp Family out of the shadows. The history of the manor ended with Matt Sharp’s wife dead by poisoning in the main dining room and his lifeless body swinging from a noose strung from the rafters of the barn. It is not clear as to who killed whom or if it was a suicide pact, but the curse was lifted from the Sharp family to say the least. There was no heir. The house stood vacant and abandoned until 1974 when it became the Haunted House at Reindeer Manor. Over the years, folks that work and visit Reindeer Manor have experienced many strange occurrences. Will You?

Grimm Brothers Ready to Help You Haunt Like a Pro

As all of you Halloween Junkies prepare for the upcoming season you are thinking of purchasing products, items, music, fog and more from many of the morbidly awesome vendors on the market. One that has become a nice one stop shop is GRIMM BROTHERS HALLOWEEN. At the Grimm store you can find everything from Fog Juice, Haunt Music, Props, and even items from Home Haunters level, Halloween Party Animal or Pro Haunt looking for additions for their event this season. Rotting Flesh Radio spent some time surfing the store and seeing all they had to offer. And we have to say, they have all the bases covered to get you as they put it “haunting like a pro”.

Now who are these Grimm Brothers you ask? Grimm Brothers is a family owned and operated company. Like their adopted namesakes, who collected the folk and fairy tales of the Old World, their trade is in the collection of the unique, fantastical, and grotesque, all for the purpose of helping you “Haunt Like a Pro”. Jason and Brant Summerlin, Grimm Brothers co-founders and real-life brothers. As kids in the late seventies and early eighties, grew up with home “spook houses”, community haunted houses and a real love for Halloween and the macabre. For nearly fifteen years they lived and worked in historic Natchitoches, Louisiana, the oldest permanent European settlement in the Louisiana Purchase Territory and a beautiful (and sometimes creepy) old Southern town.

Keeping the fairy tale fiends and storybook nightmares alive has taken up a lot of their time over the years.

They both are avid home haunters and work as staff within the professional haunt industry among other things. The year round obsession with things Halloween and professional lives as artists and designers with in house development capabilities seemed a natural combination and so Grimm Brothers was born with the goal of helping you haunt better!
