ABOUT GG:Gruesome Greetings started out initially as a single original Christmas card idea had by Joseph to get a rise of out of his friends and family for Christmas 2007. The idea was conceived by Joseph and Nikki and ended up being produced very well, in a time frame of about two days. That initial card run was an extremely small printing of a mere 25 cards, of which all but two were sent out. The response we received from our friends and family was very positive–hence why Gruesome Greetings is here today!

After that small Christmas card run, we began developing other cards in a variety of genres, and have actually started printing them in limited editions. Women of the Haunt Industry: RFR Haunt Hottie Trish

Rotting Flesh Radio is now introducing you to the Women of the Haunt Industry at www.HauntHottie.com. The site will go live in a week or so and it will have Women from all areas of the Haunt Industry from them being in “Character” acting at Haunts, to Haunt Owners, Make-up Artists, and more. RFR Haunt Hottie Trish is a ten year veteran to the Haunt Industry. Her knight on a white horse turned out to be a Halloween King with a pumpkin carriage. And ever since she has been a Halloween Princess.

She has acted in The House, Sherwood Hills haunted house, Fronks Haunted Oaks, and Pit of Hill. Trish also contributed to building, design, hair and makeup, and act for Pit of hill. She enjoyed theater growing up, and I have always loved costume design, Prop design, Backgrounds, lighting the whole shebang! As Trish puts it “I love using my creativity”. Trish is currently starting a spin off business from my husband’s Phantom FX, called Phantasy FX. It’s the prettier side of the business. She has the gore side down pretty good, now for some more challenging stuff!

RFR Haunt Hottie Trish has a love for creativity and hope that her Husband and her will continue to grow together and develop talents and always challenge each other to be our best. She has also brought another Haunter to the world with their Daughter who just turned one.

“HAUNTER’S LAIR” Coming April 10-11

The National Haunters Conventionhas now announced the addition of the “HAUNTER’S LAIR” – Featuring FREE Competitions! Organized & Hosted by: CRAZY BOB and BETH TURNER. Many know Crazy Bob within the Haunt Industry and also the host of the Hauntertainer U Segment found bi-weekly on Rotting Flesh Radio.

There are a variety of competitions that are offered as part of the new addition to the National Haunters Convention. You may even have your entry read and discussed on Rotting Flesh Radio during the show. What is the Haunters Lair? Rob Kocher and Michael Bruner, The National Haunters Convention organizers wanted to dedicate an area of their tradeshow floor for displaying and recognizing the creative genius that makes up our industry from the Home Haunter to the Halloween Enthusiast all the way to the Professional Haunt Venues. They contracted Crazy Bob & Beth Turner to develop this area for them. There are NO ENTRY fees to submit your items and everyone that enters will receive a commemorative ribbon just for participating. Winners will receive certificates of accredidation as well as a 1st, 2nd, 3rd or honorable mention ribbon. Anyone who receives 1st place in a division will also qualify to be entered into a drawing for several donated sponsor and/or vendor prizes.

MORE ON THE RONDO AWARDS: The Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards were created by David Colton and Kerry Gammill at the Classic Horror Film Boards in 2002. The awards are fan-based, and have no connection to any commercial sponsor. Anyone in fandom can vote or propose nominees. The ‘Rondo’ award itself, shown at right, features a bust sculpted by illustrator Kerry Gammill, and cast by modeler Tim Lindsey. The statuette is a miniature version of the bust of Hatton seen in the Universal film, HOUSE OF HORRORS (1946). The Rondos have been praised by recipients for their quiet beauty and evocation of classic horror.

Nominees for the Rondo are selected from suggestions by horror fans, pros and enthusiasts offered all year at the CHFB. Each year’s nominees are finalized by classic horror fan David Colton (taraco@aol.com), with the help of more than 20 classic horror fans from around the world, and with expertise in all parts of fandom. Last November House of Torment produced one of the most shocking and terrifying events ever opened to the public, Dark Stalkers. Groups entered a pitch black environment left alone to find their own way out with the aid of one dimly lit glow stick. Moving at their own pace they had to navigate through the depths of one of the most critically acclaimed haunted houses in the country. It took some close to an hour as panic, fear, and the depths of total darkness left them lost in terror. Since then thousands of emails have poured into the House of Torment offices asking about the workings of a sequel to the underground phenomenon.
