Gore Galore’s 2010 Offering at Transworld Next Weekend

March 18, 2010 Haunt Industry No Comments

Gore Galore has been a friend of ours for quite some time and Kevin and his team never cease to amaze me with everything they offer.

A few weeks ago, Kevin was a guest on RFR Show #197 1-15-2010. And their new product line for 2010 will debut at the upcoming Transworld Haunt Show in St. Louis. Well, enough from us let’s let Gore Galore tell you themselves.

Release: We have been busier this past R&D season than ever here is a proof of the catalog that will be handed out at the Hauntshow next week. And we will also have one product at the show that is not finished yet. But you will love it. It is a “Scare Box” It is a queue-line actor scare. It is a puppet built into an illusion that looks like the actor is just carrying this distressed box but really it is a puppet monster in the box ready to jump our at your customers.

We added:
5 new oversized costumes.

1 is the Rock Golem which happens to be the single biggest costume we ever built for this industry.

We also developed a track system that can support from 400 to 900 lbs for any of our costumes or huge oversized Actor operated animations we now have the capability to build to use with this system. Another costume is Cletis Slackjaw a 9′ inbred freak. Gas Mask Maniac. a 9′ techno terror, a 7′ bloody bull, and the Hollowman a form fitting latex suit made possible by Headless Horseman hayrides.

6 new my Pet zombies. We are also able to take any zombie head prop or mask from any company and make a zombie out of it for you.

Tons of new wall decor items. and bringing back some old ones.

Lost of new gory details that can all be used together as a COMPLETE SCENIC PACKAGE called the “House of Gore”

Zombie head plaques with hands to hold the weapon the zombie was killed with, or without hands. And tons of zombie heads to choose from. Plus a zombie face plaque. Again, many faces to choose from.

Barrel toppers. We developed a new product called a barrel topper that allows you to throw this panel on top of a closed drum and it makes it look like the drum is full of gore. 2 models to choose from. and several finishes to choose from to fit most any theme.

Gore pile is similar as above except you just toss it on the floor for a super easy detail.

Gore Trays. Zombie food packaged in food service trays.

Several new severed heads

Actor props: several new small actor props hatchet, wrench, mini sledge, and femur bone. We did these for a movie so it was easy to bring them to market. But the best of all these is our ability to take any one of our severed heads, zombie heads etc… and mount on a rope handle so your actors can shake in the face of your customers. We have been doing this for years but now with over 50 heads to choose from you can get several to use without them looking the same.

5 neck biters. We added 3 new neck biters to our line. Neck biters are also actor props that allow you to interact and distract your customers. Clown biter, baboon biter, and a gargoyle biter.

And a new flat backed corpse called Gnarly Natalie. It is a very detailed blank corpse we can do tons of “custom gorification”. We can detail this corpse out so many different ways you can get several and they will all look completely different. Makes a great autopsy corpse. We can even add a head.

For all the information and updates from Gore Galore visit them at the upcoming Transworld Haunt Show and always at: www.Gore-Galore.com

Get Haunted with the Insane at the Asylum Haunted Attraction

October 12, 2009 Uncategorized No Comments

The Asylum Haunted Attraction is now ready to open its doors to those residents in Kansas. At the Asylum Haunted Attraction you enter an environment of pure Halloween Insanity. The records have last shown that in the First Ward there are 10 of the most sick and dangerous Serial Killers lived and now haunt the halls. The Mad Man Marz has never been located and with you winding around every turn you will wonder if you will make it out alive. It is in the Asylum Haunted you will seek shelter in closets, run down hallways and finally enter the Blacken Dark Chambers of the Asylum Walls. From there you move on to the NIGHT TERRORS.

The Night Terrors haunt at the Asylum is where you can find SEK FEAR FACTORY. And at SEK, they are doing something completely different for their customers. It is here groups of customers will enter the Pitch Black Environment with the assistance of only a single Glow Stick! Inside the dark damp walls are the Infected Ones and they will have to make their way out alive. This event is only running on November 1st and 2nd. So make sure to catch this two night event.

The Asylum Haunted Attraction has been in operation for the last two years at an old nursing home in Chetopa Kansas. Themed with the look and feel of an Asylum, it is one of the bigger attractions in the area featuring The Vortex of Insanity as well as an intense environment filled with the Criminally Insane actors inside. This 3 wing indoor-outdoor attraction is far from any ordinary haunted house. Only being the second year in operation, the Asylum has grown in size impacting the haunted industry. Featured on Haunt World, The Asylum is very unique by ensuring all characters are “pumped up” and ready to go for the crowds by channeling today’s rock music through the attraction. We have found that both staff and customers love the impact of the music. “This is one of two I have seen in the United States using this type of music” The Haunted Enthusiasts Jim Patton.

The event runs 7pm until Midnight throughout the rest of the month of October, with the Night Terrors the first week of November.

For more information about this Chetopa, Kansas event visit their official site at: www.SekFearFactory.ws
Spin one of their Radio Spots Below:

Feel the Rampage with “ZOMBIE RAMPAGE”

With the Haunt Season going strong and the popularity of Zombies, it only seems fitting that haunt incorporate Zombies into everything. And Netherworld Haunted Attraction has done just that with the added addition of an Energy Drink too!

To make the drink even more effective to its customers, they have added exclusive Zombie Rampage Commercial Spots and a full video to their queue. This just continues the tradition of Netherworld to keep its customers, entertained, and once again branding the haunt’s many items exclusively to them.

So check out the spot below, and be sure to pick them up along with the Exclusive “The Collector Bobble Head! And if you cannot be at this top rated haunt, then give them a call, you may have them shipped to you if you ask nicely to the disturbed monsters of Netherworld. Go Old School Halloween with the “Haunted House, Midway Game”

Now aside from haunting we love all kinds of retro things. And we came across this AWESOME old school Midway Game. Now to give credit we found this as part of a museum (we we intend on travleing to after the haunt season). We found it at Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum in Michigan.

Now first, let’s give you Mr. Marvin’s description:
“Haunted House, Midway #553, 1/72, gun game with two cats, a witch, and a grave robbing monster. Blacklight lighting, 8-track player sound loop 2 minutes 42 seconds long, uses a special 4-channel 8-track player (one track is used for background “spooky” sounds, and three other tracks have sound effects for specific targets – the monster, the cats and the witch). Gun has recoil and there are two circuit boards in the back of the game for amplification and motor speed control. The target motor speed increases at 1000, 2000 and 3000 point levels making them harder to hit. Game gives 20 shots with unlimited time. If a certain score is reached, 10 more shots are awarded. Haunted House’s theme is a good one, and the sound affects are very good, but it’s not that great of a target shooting game. The biggest selling point of the game is the theme and the sounds.”

Now this item is fantastic! The grand old day of standing at the arcade, playing games, spending quarters endlessly. It is a true gem to find. And if you are one of those who remembers this, enjoy that Halloween Gamer Flashback, and if this is new to you enjoy a newly found retro love.

Horror Idioms: What are Yours?

by: RFR Casket Crew Storm

Greetings Deadites,I was alerted this morning to people using “Screaming Like an Banshee” incorrectly replacing screaming with non-banshee verbs. Now we can sit here all day and debate who is to blame; Twilight, SyFy Original Movies, Twitter. However it got me thinking what other horror idioms are out there that people can mess up? Here are a few.

Let Sleeping Werewolves Lay

Does Dracula wear a cape?

Like a Zombie With its Head Blown Off

Drastic Times Call for a Machete and a Hockey Mask

Great Ghosts Haunt Alike

No Room to Swing a Cat-of-Nine Tails

I look forward to seeing if anyone comes up with more, feel free to comment to today’s blog or call them into the RFR Rotline: (641) 715-3900 Ext 35822 and hear yourself on the show!

So until next time Deadites, Sit Back, Relax, and Rot Away…

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay kicks off it’s tenth season of gut-wrenching scares by launching the Howl-O-Scream 2009 website, HouseofVayne.com, expanding the event to seven horrifying haunted houses, and introducing the beautiful new face of evil itself – the fashionable Ms. Vayne and her deranged models.

For 17 select nights, Howl-O-Scream 2009 will prove that evil never goes out of style. The devious creatures that infest all-new haunted houses, scare zones, thrilling shows and even the streets themselves will have guests watching their backs, and bone-chilling roller coasters keep the screams coming all night long.

Howl-O-Scream 2009 is a separate ticketed event, and the general admission price is $69.95. Savings are available on advance ticket purchases for Passport Members and Florida Residents. Discounts are also available through promotional codes provided on Bud Light, Domino’s Pizza and Applebee’s products statewide. The event runs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night during October: Oct.

Freaky Preview lets guests sink their teeth into the scares a week early on Sept. 25-26 for discounted rates as low as $29.95 for general admission and $24.95 for Passport members. Operating hours are 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. during Freaky Preview and on Thursday nights. Friday and Saturday hours are 7:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Howl-O-Scream 2009 has more haunted houses than ever before, designed to tease your deepest, darkest fears:

NEW! Delta-Epsilon-Delta: Pledge Week – For decades, the most mysterious sorority on campus has invited only select girls from the top families to join. But this year, it’s open rush, and the sisters are welcoming new members with open arms. Can you escape before you fall victim to the sinister secrets of this twisted sisterhood? No one does it like a DED girl…

NEW! Nightshade Toy Factory – By day, the old Nightshade Toy Factory appears abandoned. But as night falls, the mysterious manufacturing plant glows and hums as it creates the diabolical dolls, terrible teddy bears and possessed playthings of your childhood nightmares. These twisted toys are alive…and they are coming after the adults who have forgotten them.

Some of the most demented houses ever are back by popular demand with some horrible new twists. These returning favorites are sure to terrorize first-time visitors and die-hard fans alike:

Reconstruction: The Doctor Is In – Dr. Edger VonAngst has the skill and technology to make you over…but what will you become? This mad reconstructive surgeon has set up shop, putting human parts back together with mechanical pieces and combining flesh, bone and steel in the most hideous ways. Nip/Tuck has never been like this!

Death Row Vengeance – The inmates at Grey Echo Penitentiary are slated for execution, and they blame you. With their last breath, they curse those who do nothing to save them from the electric chair or lethal injection and vow to haunt those who watched them suffer. Will you make it out alive when they come back to make good on their dying promise?

13 – Each October, the underground members of The Messengers come out of hiding to seek out 13 unlucky victims, who are tracked down and tortured before the gang feasts on their flesh. This year, they have already claimed 12 lives so far… will 13 be your unlucky number?

Taste of Blood – Once revered as royalty, hordes of undead vampires have now been forced underground into the subways and sewers to avoid the sunlight. By day, they feed on rats to survive. But as night falls, these fanged fiends take to the streets to seduce fresh blood.

Trapped in the Walls – The gruesome fate of an innocent family made headlines when it happened. Years later, evil still lingers in the rooms where the tragedies happened. It has seeped into the walls, trapping dark demons and infesting a house that can’t let go of its horrible history.

At Howl-O-Scream, even the sidewalks aren’t safe from the things that go bump in the night. Four scare zones and nine bands of roaming hordes will keep guests watching their backs as they explore 335 acres of fright:

NEW! Unearthed – Ancient evil rages when archeologists unearth the tomb of a feared Egyptian ruler, releasing his spirit into the world of the living. Ahmenhotep and his underworld minions will carry out a dreaded curse, seeking revenge on those who dared to defile his final resting place.

NEW! Banshees – According to legend, a banshee will wail around a house if someone there is about to die. When several banshees appear at once, it is said to foretell the death of someone great or notable. Here, Banshees glide through the darkness, preying on the living and looking to make their screeching songs come true.

NEW! El Carnaval del Muerto – In the small town of Decada de Sustos, the locals come together once a year to celebrate death. But in the midst of the wild revelry, visitors to this tiny village unwittingly play an important part in this macabre party by becoming the victims of the raucous and bloodthirsty townspeople.

NEW! Werewolves – As night falls, a hoard of restless half-man, half-beast monsters patiently wait for innocent guests to stumble into their lair. Those who are not worthy to join the clan will be preyed upon as dinner. These scavengers’ insatiable hunger is matched only by their cunning and determination to satisfy their need to feed.

You never know where your next scare is preparing to pounce. Just when you thought you were safe, Roaming Hordes of clowns, zombies, monsters and more take their terror to the streets and sneak up on unsuspecting victims. Who’s watching your back?

After braving bone-chilling coasters in the dark such as SheiKra, Montu, Gwazi and Kumba, you can catch your breath at these twisted live shows:

NEW! Full Moon Cabaret: The Magic of Jason Byrne – As darkness descends on the Desert Grill each night, The Academy of Magical Arts’ “Stage Magician of the Year” Jason Byrne takes to the stage with tantalizing tricks and ominous illusions as he presents his unique brand of award-winning killer magic.

Fiends – Is there a doctor in the house? These captivating creatures of the night will infect you with dance fever and keep your pulse pounding with their deranged dance party. But when Dr. Freakenstein’s naughty nurses start operating, the diagnosis is always “code pink.” Looking for a killer party or the perfect souvenir to round out your evening of evil?

NEW! Club enVy – Take a break from the terror to stop by Howl-O-Scream’s new, exclusive 21+ dance club, featuring unlimited access to exclusive cocktails, drink specials, character meet-and-greets and great music all night long. A special “Happy Hour” option also includes hors d’oeuvres and exclusive early access to haunted houses.

NEW! Howl-O-Scream Shop of Horrors – Remember your evening of evil with the perfect Howl-O-Scream souvenir, including signature House of Vayne jewelry, “10 Years of Terror” commemorative t-shirts and other Halloween-themed gifts. Then, smile through the pain and snap the perfect party pic with the DED girls at an exclusive photo op that’s not for the faint of heart.

Take advantage of the best way to see Howl-O-Scream with All-Inclusive Fear Tours that include your admission ticket. Fear Tours offer three levels of terrifying special treatment: “The Viewing” is a three-hour group tour of haunted houses and major thrill rides. The five-hour “Funeral” group tour adds reserved show seating, and “The Embalming” includes the Fright Feast dinner buffet, preferred parking and a private “Ghoul Guide” for your party of three or more. All tours include commemorative photos and complimentary beverages, and packages start at $89.95.

For those who want to skip the lines and get right to the screaming, the Front Line Fear pass offers no-wait access to your choice of seven haunted houses as well as photo and merchandise discounts – all for $35.00. The Front Line Fear Plus pass also includes front-of-line access for your choice of four major coasters for $45.00.

The Thrills & Chills Weekend Pass lets true Halloween fans face their fears over and over again with a long weekend (Thursday through Sunday) of unlimited access to Busch Gardens’ thrills by day and Howl-O-Scream’s chills by night – all for just $79.95!

For out-of-town guests, Gory Getaway vacation packages are also available, featuring Howl-O-Scream admission and accommodations at one of Busch Gardens’ preferred partner hotels. Prices start at $238.04 per person plus tax, based on double occupancy. And if there’s one thing worse than being terrified, it’s being terrified on an empty stomach. Fright Feast is the most deranged dinner show in town, featuring a buffet of monstrous main courses and devilish desserts, plus an exclusive performance of Full Moon Cabaret: The Magic of Jason Byrne. Fright Feast guests are also the first to brave the dark with a half-hour of early access to the haunted houses. Fright Feast is $24.95 per person, with group rates and discounts for Passport members available.

Howl-O-Scream is a separate ticketed night event. No costumes are allowed. For guest information, visit HouseofVayne.com or call 1-888-800-5447.
