On the internet you can find some pretty sweet blogs with so many out there. And we have seen our share of blogs. Well one of them we came across was The Witch’s Hat.
This blog gives you a look at things for the Halloween and Horror Enthusiast. It’s fun, light hearted and keeping you in the true Halloween spirit we all grew up with. Now I do have to say we found this blog because of her mention of Rotting Flesh Radio. She recently wrote about how so many podcasts are popping up, many come and go, but gave Mad Haunt Props to those of us who started the trend in this industry with 4 or more years under our belts.
Thank you for the mention. But all of you Deadites, above and beyond that, we have found this blog to be a total fun read for that Halloween tidbit you are looking for to keeping you in the mood.

Even though the Haunt Season is just now approaching and finally here, we are already thinking of you vendors and the upcoming Transworld Halloween and Attractions Show coming to America’s Center in St. Louis once again during March 10-13, 2011.
This annual trek is a must show at for any haunt vendor wanting to make a splash and get those early sales for the 2011 Haunt Season. Once again Rotting Flesh Radio will be vending there and will have something very special to debut. ROT ON ROTTING FLESH RADIO DEADITES!
So for many years growing up many of us who have a love of Disney’s Haunted Mansion always dreamed of staying overnight in the Mansion itself. This of course was never going to happen, but it did fuel our love of Halloween, Spookiness and Haunted Houses.
So it seems recently according to WDW Magic, Disney has been dishing out surveys to see what kind of rooms guests would like to see next in the Moderate Level Resorts. This is much like the Pirates of the Caribbean rooms that were added in recent years.
According to many of the forum and thread users at WDW Magic, Disney has been using these surveys along with concept art and asking their opinions. Now this would go beyond just a Haunted Mansion Room. There was also talk of a Princess Room, and a Royal Room etc. Here is the description for the Haunted Mansion Room:
“Come spend the night with a few of the happy haunts who play in an enchanted bedroom inspired by the Haunted Mansion. Rest atop the floating Doom Buggy beds with a couple of friendly spooks and watch glow-in-the-dark, cartoon-like footsteps mysteriously appear as the evening sets in. A sliding bookcase creates a hidden passage to the bathroom and is the perfect hiding place for a hitch-hiking ghost. Oversized furnishings with curvy lines and bright colors add to the whimsy in the room. Guests will delight in finding the hidden special effects that play up the merry, rather than scary, room ambiance.”
I know I for one would LOVE to see a Haunted Mansion room surface at the Disney Resorts. Sound off, what would you think?

The well know, nationally recognized haunted attraction House of Torment has been in the haunt spotlight for years. And part of their fame was from the Art direction that went into it as well as an awesome Haunt full of Scare itself.
Well, it seems that the Art Direction Team behind much of its’ graphic design, style, and overall graphical appearance has decided to move on.
House of Torment will always be a fantastic haunt but let’s hear what the new company Global Fear Enterprises has to offer to many of you Haunt Owners ready for some new blood in ad and marketing creation.

ABOUT the MediEVIL Halloween Scare and Samlesbury Hall:
Samlesbury Hall is a splendid 14th Century Manor House. Over the centuries there have been many changes.
The first hall was built by the D’Ewyas family and situated on the banks of the river Ribble. This was destroyed by Robert the Bruce, after the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314, when the Scots went on to ransack and pillage homes along the banks of the river, from Preston to Clitheroe.
Gilbert de Southworth from Warrington married Alice D’Ewyas in the early 1320′s, and five years later built the Great Hall, the oldest part of the existing building.
The current building and grounds are administered by a registered charity known as the Samlesbury Hall Trust whose aim is to preserve the Hall for the people of the area and visitors to Lancashire. The trust was founded in the 1920′s when the Hall was about to be demolished. Since then the Hall has been a museum and Gallery and host to many grand functions.
The Hall is open to the public every day except Saturdays when it is closed for weddings. On this site today, you will discover an ancient, magnificently preserved manor house and gardens, with a colourful history and a wide-ranging programme of year-round events and activities.
Growing up a remember sitting up late getting scared from Horror Films with my mother. She would let me hang out after my Brothers and sisters were fast asleep. Man, did I grow up with nightmares. Anyways it was during those years I also discovered the wonderful thing of Goth Women and the Sexiness of Elvira. Oh so many nights thinking there was a magazine spread with Elvira in it. Officially released is news that the one and only Elvira Mistress of the Dark is returning to her roots giving us the late night Movie Macabre!
Yes, you read it right, Elvira is back and about damn time! All throughout the 1980s we saw Elvira present us with the good and bad of B-Horror Movies and made the wise cracks, memorable moments we grew to love. She gave us our first Halloween Mix CDs and even had her run of movies.
So, as it stand the queen of camp, is back in action coming September 25, 2010. This fall she is coming back to the small screen with Elvira’s Movie Macabre and will premiere on THIS! Television and on national syndication. So keep your eyes peeled and above the chest area please, to see all new Elvira coming soon.

Bruce Campbell (The EVIL DEAD series, TV’s “BURN NOTICE”) will be a special guest at the Flashback Weekend Horror Convention to be held at the Midway Drive-In located in Dixon, Illinois. Bruce will be signing autographs, conducting a lively Q & A and introducing a big screen presentation of his film “MY NAME IS BRUCE”. Bruce will be appearing Saturday Sept. 11, 2010.
The “EVIL DEAD” trilogy will also be screened (on the HUGE 90 foot wide) screen, including a restored 35mm print of “THE EVIL DEAD” (courtesy of Grindhouse Releasing).
There will also be the Charles Band and his Full Moon Road Show!
The weekend will include many special events, such as Charles Band and his Full Moon Roadshow. Charles Band released many cult classics at Drive-Ins during the 70′s and 80′s, and we’re thrilled to have him as a guest for his first Full Moon Roadshow appearance at a Drive-In! We can’t wait to see what wild and crazy things he has planned for a Drive-In audience!
FLASHBACK WEEKEND HORROR CONVENTION 2010 AT THE MIDWAY DRIVE-IN will present 35mm screenings of classic horror and exploitation features, celebrity guests, vintage coming attractions and concession ads, a horror dealer merchandise flea market, and more!
35mm programming will include a Friday night Triple Feature and a Saturday night “Dusk to Dawn” show. Classic horror trailers and vintage concession ads will be shown in between features. Horror vendors will be set up on the Midway Drive-In grounds on during the afternoons.
Located in northern Illinois between Dixon and Sterling, (a two hour drive from Chicago), the Midway Drive-In is home to the oldest Drive-In screen in Illinois. Hotel accommodations and campgrounds are located just minutes from the Midway Drive-In.
