On Memorial Day, Rotting Flesh Radio Takes a Moment to Honor

On this holiday, where many of us are camping, grilling out, taking a break from building our haunts, prepping for MHC next week, it is time to take a true moment and recall what today is truly for.

So in a moment of silence, Rotting Flesh Radio would like to take that time and honor the vets, those is the services, and most of all, those who contributed to making us all FREE! Without these freedoms we couldn’t live the way we do, build a haunt and scare patrons at our will, and raise our families in the land of the free.

Freedom never comes easy, and it also should NEVER be forgotten how it came to be. THANK YOU!

The Unknown Scare Actor here from the RFR Casket Crew. On memorial day, I wanted to say thank you to all veterans out there, past and present, for fighting for our freedoms.

As haunters, we love to entertain, shock, and scare as people come through our haunted attractions.  The patrons enjoy our shows, and the thrills they get from attending, because they know, in the back of their mind, that even though we are out to “get” them, they are in a safe environment. Our veterans have seen true horrors, without the “safety net” of a simulated reality, and their bravery keeps us enjoying the opportunity to scare others. 

So, again, to all your veterans, my mask is off to you all……..

and you know I am proud to be an American since my initials are U.S.A!

With the haunt season right around the corner, you have to start thinking about listing your event. in the end, what good is a haunted attraction if you aren’t able to scare anyone?

Horror Legend to Speak at The ScareHouse ScareCamp in Pittsburgh

Actor Doug Bradley, (He Can Be Heard on Rotting Flesh Radio Show #218 Here) internationally known by legions of horror fans for his role as Pinhead in the Hellraiser film series, will deliver the keynote address at the upcoming ScareHouse ScareCamp presented in Pittsburgh on Saturday, June 11th. He is one of only three actors to play the same horror character at least six consecutive times, the others being Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger in eight consecutive films) and Tobin Bell (Jigsaw in all seven Saw films.)

The producers of “One of America’s Scariest Halloween Attractions” (Travel Channel) will present a fun and full day of scaring, screaming, and surprises with the first annual ScareHouse ScareCamp. The team of expert designers, artists, and performers plan to present a fast-paced schedule of classes, demonstrations, and an exclusive look at plans for their new attraction: Pittsburgh Zombies.

“Mr. Bradley has created one of the most influential and intimidating horror icons or our generation,” said ScareHouse Creative Director Scott Simmons. “This is a rare opportunity for both current and potential ScareHouse performers to learn the secret skills required to create unique and original characters.”

The day’s schedule will also include a rare lecture from Todd James, winner of a Guinness World’s Record for creating the world’s longest walk through haunted house. And the first-ever Zombie Academy will offer expert and in-depth instruction in movement, communication, and flesh-eating.

There is NO COST to attend The ScareHouse ScareCamp but advance registration is required and only limited spaces are available. Only registered guests who receive invitations from The ScareHouse will be allowed to attend. Walk-ins are not permitted. Event expected to reach capacity very quickly.

Registration is open to both current and potential ScareHouse cast and crew members.

FREE Friday Night Haunt Tour at Midwest Haunters Convention

With conventions coming up soon, one of the best last haunt romps of the year is the Midwest Haunters Convention. One of the best things about the MHC Event are the Haunt Tours where you can see some of the best haunts in this industry. And now aside from the normal tours that will be featured in the 2011 Midwest Haunters Convention, they are giving attendees a ton of complimentary events on Friday night including a FREE Haunt Tour!

The Midwest Haunters Convention has assembled a fantastic night of complimentary events for all registered attendees on Friday, June 3.

Phillip Morris of Morris Costumes will greet guests at our welcome reception at the Hyatt, Terrorfest (with two attractions) will provide complimentary admission to all registered attendees and they’ll provide a free shuttle bus to/from the haunt! Then everyone will return to the Hyatt for a free haunters party and Scary-Oke show!

This is going to be a fun FREE night for haunters and sponsors have been said to be lining up to bring even more to the Friday Night Festivities.

An Evening with Phillip Morris of Morris CostumesJoin Phillip Morris for a cocktail reception to kick off the MHC. Phillip will present the topic of Spiritualism (séances, ghost houses, etc) and how that movement transitioned into today’s haunted attractions. From the 40′s to the late 60′s Philip Morris and a group of professional magicians toured all over North America in movie theatres, presenting their Midnight Ghost Stage Shows. These shows were the forerunners of today’s Haunted Houses. This up close and personal reception will be both informative and entertaining. Discover the beginnings of the haunted attraction industry and how Phillip was involved from the start.

Terrorfest: Featuring Two Terrifying Haunted Attractions

You’ll receive complimentary admission to both attractions and they’ll provide free shuttle service to/from the haunt and the Hyatt. This is for Midwest Haunters Convention registered attendees only. After the haunt tours; we’ll return to the Hyatt Regency for a complimentary party at the Big Bar on 2 with a Scary-oke show and MHC Haunters Party. Haunters will have the opportunity to perform on stage during our party starting at 10:00 pm. Stop by after the haunt tours for a party with your fellow haunters!
