Voltron Feature Film Announced at Comic Con

Voltron: Defender of the Universe

So Haunters it may not be Halloween related but at a kid in the 80s, aside from Haunted Houses, The Haunted Mansion and Freddy Krueger, I also was a Goonie and a TV Junkie. That brings me to something not Halloween related but exciting non the less.

It seems that the Transformers reboot to the classic cartoon has been such a success, they finally realized they should bring the hard core awesome cartoons to the big screen as well, and VOLTRON is just the ticket.

Voltron: A 1984 Classic

It has been confirmed that Relativity Media has decided to move forward with a feature film of Voltron, the 1984 Classic Anime Cartoon Series. This film will be live-action and be a blockbuster hit in scope. All the Lions will be there (they are a band of robot lions in case you never heard of Voltron), and they will once again defend the universe by joining together as one giant robot, aka Voltron, to defeat any evil forces.

The films doesn’t have any director attached as of yet, but it is being produced some those who know their stuff such as Charles Roven (The Dark Knight), Richard Suckle (The International), and Jason Netter (Wanted). Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer, are penning the screenplay and recently did the Conan the Barbarian film getting released later this year.

The Voltron announcement came at the Comic Con event taking place right now during the ‘Voltron Resurgent,’ which announced a new cartoon series on Nicktoons called Voltron Force and also the new toy line coming from Mattel.

So Deadites, it may not be Halloween related but I know many of my Haunt Friends are looking forward to this one as we here at Rotting Flesh Radio are.
