Ready for the Great Pumpkin? How About Some Pumpkin Carols to Start!

October 27, 2009 Halloween, Haunt Industry, Music No Comments

We have all heard Linus talk about pumpkin caroling, and waiting for the Great Pumpkin on Halloween Night. But what is a pumpkin carol? We have uncovered that answer for you.

Kristen Lawrence is a musical composer who has recently composed a clever Halloween soundtrack based on centuries of tradition and legends. From her extensive research for her “Halloween Carols” that she has composed, Kristen found that Halloween is a fascinating but tangled web of folklore and facts. Our modern celebrations have developed from centuries of traditions from ancient Celtic, Roman and medieval Christian cultures.

Kristen’s new Halloween-inspired album, “A Broom With A View” is a depiction of these centuries-old traditions. Similar to Christmas carols with repeating cords and harmonies, the music on her new album, is all original and historically based. Each track on the album paints a different eerie Halloween picture. The album’s title track, “A Broom with a View,” for example, describes how the intriguing Halloween night sky invites a sensual witch out for a joy ride on her broom.

Now Halloween is this weekend and we are all preparing for it. So sit on down and enjoy some truly inspiring, and informative Halloween Tunes and Pumpkin Carols. I know we are enjoying them, and Kristen is slated to guest on RFR soon.
