Can You Identify Your Stolen Property: Why Yes Officer, it has Rotting Flesh Radio on it!

October 15, 2009 Halloween, Haunt Industry, Podcast, Rotting Flesh Radio No Comments

RFR has a variety of listeners from enthusiasts, owners, vendors, home haunters and those just curious. And The Mortician gets a variety of mail from Deadites from loving the show, to fun haunt stories. This is one we recieved this week, and although we feel bad for Deadite Listener Keith, it is humorous how RFR can now be used to properly identify your haunted items.

Mortician,

Had some bad luck a week or so ago when I had my 2nd generation iPod Nano stolen from my car while parked at my house overnight. Pissed me off but it was mostly my fault as I had left the car unlocked that night. I continued to reported it to the Corning, NY Police, not ever expecting to see it again, but just because it was the right thing to do.

A week later I get a call from the Police saying that they have recovered a blue iPod and would I come down to try and identify it. So I go down to the station and sure enough it is my iPod! I identified it by looking up podcasts and found Rotting Flesh Radio. I told the officer that it was likely the only Blue iPod in the city of Corning that had Rotting Flesh Radio Podcast loaded on it!

He gave me a funny look and said, long as you know its yours. I felt I had to explain that I was a haunt owner and “only look at it for the in depth articles……”

I did not get the iPod back yet as they still need it for evidence. I guess that the kid they caught with it had quite a lot of stuff from other cars and also a previous rap sheet so hopefully he is going up the river. I wont get the iPod back until after the trial.

What to do in the meantime? Now I cant listen to RFR on my commute to work. Damn.
